Theo Gardner is a current MA Journalism: Sports student at the University of Salford.
After completion of his undergraduate degree in Political Science and Philosophy at the University of Birmingham, Theo moved to Manchester in pursuit of a career within football journalism.
However, Theo’s biggest interest for years within football has always been the historic side of football and in particular, the history and development of tactics.
Theo is largely inspired by the tactical writings of Michael Cox, the football-history and tactical writings of Jonathan Wilson, as well as previous history-focused features from publications such as The Athletic, and, the ‘Tifo Football’ channel on YouTube.
As a result, Theo chose to start this website in December 2023, to serve as a vessel for him to discuss the historic side of football and the development of tactical ideas, throughout time, within football.
